With the latest blast of wintery weather hitting Wellington, more people than ever are turning to Aluplast uPVC windows and doors from Eco Doors & Windows. uPVC is not a thermal conductor, and by combining uPVC with double glazed windows first rate insulation values can be achieved. As the uPVC frame cannot move, windows and doors seal tightly against their frames, unlike legacy products such as timber and aluminium joinery.

BRANZ released their appraisal of all of Eco Doors & Windows’ joinery range last year and, as expected, after rigorous examination, their joinery units have been approved for weather tightness, air tightness and structural design. BRANZ Appraisals are robust, in-depth independent evaluations for building products and systems to be deemed fit for purpose and Building Code compliant.

A BRANZ Appraisal is a tool that facilitates market acceptance, giving confidence to building specifiers, Regulatory Bodies, Building Consent Authorities and Building Officials during the building and consent process. In the opinion of BRANZ Aluplast uPVC windows and doors, if used, designed, installed and maintained in accordance with the statements and conditions of the Appraisal met the provisions of the NZBC.

Aluplast uPVC windows and doors are a range of double and triple-glazed window and door joinery units for use in residential and light commercial buildings. The uPVC is a tropical formulation for use in countries with high UV levels, such as New Zealand, and testing has been carried out on the joinery by an IANZ accredited laboratory, and meets all requirements of NZ 4211.

BRANZ durability experts have reviewed overseas test data for Aluplast uPVC, and have also considered the history of use of Aluplast uPVC in New Zealand and overseas. In the opinion of BRANZ Aluplast uPVC windows and doors is fit for purpose and will comply with the Building Code to the extent specified in the Appraisal, provided it is used, designed, installed and maintained as set out in the Appraisal.

Finally, speaking of the stormy weather, Eco Doors & Windows’ uPVC Wellington window customers always comment on how much quieter their house is after upgrading to our quality uPVC joinery, and for more information on double glazing Wellington, aluminium windows and Wellington windows and doors please go to https://ecowindows.nz .
