The World Sleep Society Recommends Ten Steps to Healthy Sleep/Patney Celebrate World Sleep Day

The World Sleep Society (WSS) celebrates World sleep day on Friday, March 19, 2021, and their slogan for the 14thannual World Sleep Day® is ‘Regular Sleep, Healthy Future.’  World Sleep Day is a call to all sleep professionals to advocate and educate the world about the importance of sleep for achieving an optimal quality of life and improve global health. 

 Sleep professionals, Patney have chosen Number 9 in the World Sleep Society’s list of Ten Steps to Achieve Healthy Sleep, “Block out all distracting noise and eliminate as much light as possible”, with their Sleep Positioner pillow contributing to the elimination of snoring, and its attendant noise, so that a partner won’t be kept awake.  

 Early on Patney committed to having their Sleep Positioner independently verified, undergoing an independent validation study by the WellSleep Centre. This study, by Senior Lecturer, Dr Angela Campbell, Department of Medicine and Manager WellSleep, assessed the effectiveness of Patney in reducing snoring in a population of snorersThe subjects covered a cross-section of genders, ethnicities and body compositions, and the results were extremely encouraging.  

 The study found that the Patney improved sleep quality, that partners reported less snoring (less noise) and improved sleep, and 89% of people who completed the study reported a reduction in their partner’s snoring. 

The focus on regular sleep for 2021 is based on the benefits that regular sleep offers. Studies have demonstrated that stable bedtimes and rise times are associated with better sleep quality in young, middle-aged adults, and seniors.  Regular sleepers have better mood, psychomotor performance, and academic achievement.
