Tandem skydiving is the fastest, easiest and safest way for an inexperienced skydiver to enjoy the thrill of jumping out of a plane, free falling through the sky at 200kph/120mph and floating safely to the ground under a parachute, and INFLITE offer New Zealand’s highest skydive at 20,000 feet.
INFLITE offer this from two bases that are both at sea level – Skydive Franz and Fox Glacier and Skydive Abel Tasman. This high altitude jump was first pioneered by INFLITE’s team in Franz and offers 65 seconds of freefall over the Southern Alps.
Nestled between New Zealand’s highest mountains, the Tasman Sea, stunning temperate rainforest, glowing glaciers, mirror lakes and braided river beds, Franz Josef Glacier has been described as one of the most beautiful places on earth. For this reason and many others, the region was included in the Te Wahipounamu World Heritage Area.
You’ll jump from flight level 20,000 ft, landing at INFLITE’s drop zone which is approximately 300 ft above sea level. If this is a little too high, you can check out jumps from 16,500 and 13,000 ft.
Similarly, with INFLITE’s 20,000-ft Tandem Skydive in Abel Tasman, you are paired with a professional tandem master who looks after you every step of the way, ensuring a safe and exhilarating skydive experience.
Please allow around 2-3 hours for the experience, from the time you arrive at the airport. There is a great viewing area and onsite cafe for spectators too. The maximum weight is 100kgs. They can sometimes accommodate guests up to 105kgs, but this at the discretion of the Tandem Master on the day and dependent on weather conditions. A surcharge may apply. Parental or guardian consent is required for anyone under 18. Children under 12 should be evaluated on an individual basis. INFLITE welcome people of all ages.
