This Halloween, for one day only, Stardome are turning into a cinema! How about going along for a special screening of one of four family classics in Stardome’s majestic planetarium, complete with free popcorn and the most comfortable movie seats in town!

Get set to enjoy a spooky selection of all-time whānau faves, suitable for the youngest of trick-or-treaters right through to more mature Halloween enthusiasts. You are going to love them! See film details and screen times below:

Monster Family
Despite the title, the Wishbone family are far from happy. In an attempt to reconnect as a family, Mum and Emma plan a fun night out. However, her plan backfires when an evil witch curses them, and they’re all turned into Monsters.

The House with a Clock in its Walls
In the tradition of Amblin classics where fantastical events occur in the most unexpected places, Jack Black and Cate Blanchett star in The House with a Clock in Its Walls. A film for the whole family, this magical adventure tells the tale of 10-year-old Lewis, an orphan who is sent to live with his Uncle Jonathan in a creaky old house. But his new home is far from ordinary and soon reveals a secret world of warlocks and witches. The house is enchanted, and Lewis must join his uncle on a quest to discover the source of a mysterious ticking within its walls.

Coraline
While exploring her new home, a girl named Coraline (Dakota Fanning) discovers a secret door, behind which lies an alternate world that closely mirrors her own but, in many ways, is better. She rejoices in her discovery, until Other Mother (Teri Hatcher) and the rest of her parallel family try to keep her there forever. Coraline must use all her resources and bravery to make it back to her own family and life.

Beetlejuice
Relive Tim Burton’s classic spooky comedy following a recently deceased couple as they grapple with the rules of the afterlife. With help from the ‘afterlife’s leading bio-exorcist’, Beetlejuice, things are going to get weirder before they get better. Did you know that there is also a star called Betelguese (pronounced the same way as the movie!)? Learn more about this in a short viewing on the namesake of the Betelguese star before the main feature.

Ticket price includes 1 x FREE Popcorn,  admittance to film and at the 7.30pm movie telescope viewing (if weather permits). Costumes are encouraged (you might just win a prize!) but not compulsory. Bookings are essential, so don’t ghost out! All movie tickets include 1 x Free Popcorn, and for more information on Christmas venues Auckland, function rooms Auckland and party venues Auckland please go to www.stardome.org.nz .
