You will get paid cash when you recycle old appliances and household items or broken and damaged whiteware at an Endless drive thru. You’ll also be preventing it from going to landfill and saving the fee you would have to pay to tip it so it’s a win-win all round. All their drive thrus are open to the public, so there is no need to make an appointment or call ahead.  Just drive in and park and one of their friendly staff will help you offload, get the items weighed and get you paid.

Endless buy household items as scrap and not for resale or reuse.  This means that the make or brand of the appliance doesn’t change the value of the appliance to them from a scrap metal perspective.  Appliances and whiteware consist mostly of steel and plastic and because steel is quite a low value metal, it’s not worth very much, so if your appliance is still working, you’re likely to get more for it by selling it on Trademe or Marketplace.

Because the value of the scrap metal they can extract from the goods is usually much lower than the cost of the transport Endless don’t do residential collections of appliances and whiteware  as it would become an expensive exercise for you and not worth your while. If you’re really stuck and just can’t find a way to get the items to them, give them a call and they will try their best to find a workable solution for you.

However, they aren’t yet able to take televisions, computer equipment, old cell phones or other e-waste, as their facility if not yet set up to safely dispose of these types of items.  To recycle e-waste, its best to take it to a reputable e-waste recycler.  A list can usually be found on your local council’s website, and for more information on aluminium scrap, steel recycling and whiteware recycling please go to www.endlessmetals.co.nz .
